I have not been riding my road bike very long but the brakes are bloody awful in the wet. I can't start to explain how long it takes to stop the thing.
The brakes ie levers and calipers seem OK, I think I have norrowed it down to the pads/shoes.
The rims are clean and grease free as well BTW
any of you guys have recomendations for a better pad/shoe.
They are cartridge pads, but with no make or model on them anywhere.

I use swisstop pads
Shimano R560 with 105 levers
brakes are bloody awful in the wet.
this was mtb in the early 90's. When riding in the wet on the roads the brakes are crap. It'll take a few seconds of pressing them before the rim dries itself enough for the pads to make any (real) difference.
You could prob go for wet weather pads but then they still aren't really any diferent from normal pads. All you can really do is set lever, calipers and pads up best you can, add in a decent pad and thats it
Koolstop salmon are highly recommended, swisstop green are good to but not any better IME and cost a lot more.
