Following on from the sliced-bread-the-best-thing-since thread, there seems to be the usual ketchup or brown sauce debate. This argument has cropped up more times in my life that I can even begin to remember, usually relating to bacon butties/rolls/barms (whatever you call them in your part of the world).
Personally, I think HP sauce is the condiment of Kings and that tomato ketchup, as was mentioned in the above thread, is for kids.

Bacon sandwich = Brown
Everything else = Red
I use a range of sauces - tomato, HP, barbecue, chilli, etc etc - depending on mood. I can't imagine always having the same thing on the same food. How boring must that be?
Remember though kids: practice Safe Eating, and always use a condiment.

I did see a guy order a bacon butty from a roadside greasy-spoon place who asked for both red and brown on it. At first I was a little bit horrified but, I have to admit, I am quite curious to know what it's like..... I'd hate to waste a perfectly good bacon (and HP sauce) butty however.
It did remind me of a product that I tried when I was a nipper on holiday in South Africa. It was called Tomusto (sic) and was a hotdog dressing consisting of ketchup and mustard in one bottle. It was blooming loverly.
I never liked brown
I've just eaten a black pudding and bacon bageutte with Red and Brown in it. Wouldn't have it any other way.
I also did a definitive study on how best to serve fish finger butties which I posted on this very forum about a year ago. Yes, I'm an authority on this subject.

I bought a Schwartz salt mill a little while back. Used it all up, bought a big tub to refill it, and the sodding thing isn't actually refillable. You can't get the plastic off the glass (or at least, I can't).

I tend to have quite a collection of chilli sauces in the house and so one of those on pretty much anything. If I really have to go ketchup or brown then HP fruity!

Well, I never, I actually agree with Z-11 on something. I always have a bit of both on bacon/egg/sausage in a bap combinations.

Normally swap between or mix together Heniz ketchup and HP Classic Woodsmoke BBQ Sauce. Yum!
Brown on owt, red strictly for chips, burgers and hotdogs.
Now that is scientific fact. There's no real evidence for it but it's scientific fact.
Brown sauce is for the illiterates than can't spell or pronounce Worcestershire Sauce. Brown sauce with bacon indeed!

Red sauce is acceptable if you are a child, female or secretly fancy the bloke from Twilight.
Otherwise, it signifies weakness of character.
Lea and Perrins, Colmans English Mustard, HP Original and mayo are the only acceptable condiments for an Englishman, unless eating Indian food, where a pickle tray may be utilised with caution.
BBQ sauce? Go and live in America then, pervert.

I've done a jar of that baconnaise. So wrong, yet. Yet. Well, it changed me, lets just say that...
Well, red you can get away with a gentlemans wash, but with brown you'd really want a shower.
