I watched Grosse Pointe Blank the other day, hadn't seen it for ages, quality film, kind of a comedy and kind of a romcom though, not too romcommy though.

People are great aren't they? We'd all look identical to an alien but we're all so different. I thought watchmen was complete bobbins. I really wanted to like it, bought the DVD but just got bored half way through.

I've just seen Inglorious Basterds which I quite liked.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, a great film that keeps you guessing , also Bob Downey Jr's redemptive performance which has thankfully steered his career back into the fore.

I'll second Moon (Director Duncan Jones) saw it on DVD over the weekend. It's the sort of film that makes you question things. Not to mention a great performance by Sam Rockwell.

I still don't understand why people like "into the Wild". The voice off is so annoying, and keep repeating every 5 min (and I'm not exagerating), "I'm just a cool dude, the society is just pants" (ok i did exagerate a bit). The sceneries are at least superb, like watching a Colin Prior calendar but that's all. And don't get me on with "it's a true story".
"The Live of others" is a good watch.

Dont get it? I was blown away. Personally thought it was a stunning film, with an incredible soundtrack. Vedders best songwriting to date.

I'll also add Where The Wild Things Are – Watched this the other night and my seven year old son cried at the end. Not seen him so emotionally affected after watching a movie before which was bittersweet. As a result it made me (privately) blub too! Beautifully made film with a great soundtrack.

On the kids side, can I also mention Bridge to Terabithia!

+1 for District 9, and allegedly a good rip out there too. ;o)
Also, I enjoyed Harry Brown recently (that sounds like a euphemism) not for everyone for sure, but good watching.
Pandorum was good too, but that's if you like sci-fi/horror (I've been playing deadspace on the PS3).

+1 for instinct too, though could have been so much more.

Inglourious Basterds was hilarious at the Cinema first time round.

Recently watched Frost/Nixon on DVD and that was an awesome film.

Ronin for the best car chase scene ever and Robert De Niro at his best since Taxi Driver probably.

LEON is just an all time classic and Jean Reno is awesome in it.

Kill Bill pt 1+2 cos it's probably the most ridiculous revenge story ever, with way too much blood and guts spilt, but it's all the better for it!

Layer Cake in which Daniel Craig is much more convincing an actor than he is as Bond. Also contains the classic line "Do you know where I live? No… Well **** off then!"

Welcome to Collinwood, cos though it's not strictly a comedy, it is possibly the single funniest film I've ever watched in the most ironic way!

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas cos it's totally warped and you won't fail to be impressed by Johnny Depp's madness!

Just a few of my faves anyway…
