    You could check out Zopa, they’ve come up before on here (albeit from a lenders perspective)…

    Also, the Guardian has a page they do with Moneysupermarket where they set out a table of different loan rates… although all seem for a minimum of £7500.

    Good credit rating? M&S will do you a loan for 6%, given that inflation is 4.8% that’s pretty good in my book*

    If you are a good credit risk then Zopa would be my first stop, an “in principle” offer from Zopa will not affect your credit rating so its worth asking. Don’t be offended if Zopa turn you down, its “real peoples” money they are lending so they have stricter criteria than normal banks.

    Zopa lends money on either 3 yrs or 6yrs but there is NO PENALTY for early repayment (wheras normally there is no advantage to repaying a bank early).
