for a mates Maverick with upsidedown forks so the sensor needs to be fitted to pick up the magnet off the rear wheel. The trouble is finding one that has a longer operating range. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Bloke on the classifieds is selling a Garmin Edge for £50, I'd go for that.

This works for me (I've Mavericks on all my MTB's), it moves the sender in range of the reciever.

Normal Cateye wireless (can't remember the model numbers) BTW.

I've got an Edge 705 too, but I like to keep track of the mileage of each of my bikes 🙄

Cateye wirless Strada, not sure about the range (better than my previous Trek Incite 8i) but all round good computer, doesn't suffer from much interferrence like a lot of the others. Easy to use to.

Would not recommend Cateye Strada, the 'first 2' I recieved didn't work,
my 3rd replacement eats batteries, doesn't work with a Cateye HRM on the
Bike, the advertising hype doesn't tell you that when you buy Cateye products they aren't always compatible (BIG CON). When the battery dies you cannot input your logged mileage back into the unit, not very good
    in fact effin useless.
Sigma are far superior, ran basic sigma's for 10 years no problems.
Thought I'd try something different, BIG mistake.

Yes you can, well I can anyway, its just a case of following the instruction flow diagram.
