Broken my collar bone, looks like its displaced (reassessment mon when swelling has gone down), couple of ribs gone etc…

Need something to do, was thinking a strategy game might make the time go quick – cant be real time as its my right i've broken.

    Any suggesstions?

And how long before the bones stop click/pop (causing extreme pain)….

Its all the mmmbops fault 🙁

Not 'strategy' exactly, but I'm really enjoying the Sam & Max games at the moment. There's a free demo of the first 'episode' so you can see if it's your sort of thing. http://www.telltalegames.com/samandmax/cultureshock

Not a game at all but these guys helped me out with my collar bone massively, http://www.physioclininc.net a day of a couple of sessions with them and I was back on the road bike less than 3 weeks after the break and xc bike 4 weeks. It was broken into 4 pieces as well so a proper job. If you've only got a sling get a clavicle brace (figure 8 thing) much better posture for healing and means you have 2 hands to use.

Email in profile if you've got any more questions.

    Can't beat a bit of Civilization 4.

Also, not quite strategy, but this will make the hours evaporate… Open source version of ' Transport Tycoon Deluxe ' – free too, which is always good.

I remember Civilisation 2 eating hours of my life on my old Amiga when I was younger. What about Star Wars Galactic Battleground? Turn based RTS with campaigns or just jump in and go action with the added bonus of it being Star Wars? Faiing that theres always Starcraft which was always fun too.

Age of Empires….any of them. Fantastic games. Can pick them up pretty cheap now. Age of Mythology was great as well. Also love Star Wars: Galactic Battleground which is basically Age of Empires with Star Wars…uses the AoE software so its very familiar to those that have played AoE.

Civ 4- ancient but brilliant. Civ 5's not quite out yet and might not be any better.

Considering the fact that he says no RTSs quite a few people have recommended them 😛

The Total War games get brilliant reports, really not convinced myself, Shogun was superb but to me every one since has added more features and half of them haven't worked, meantime the main game's stood still or got worse. People do love them so what do I know? There are realtime elemnts to them though.

Galactic Civilisations? I fell out with the company over an activation code issue but it seems a good game

Rome: Total War is pretty good, very addictive and massive!

If you can get it to run, Master of Orion 2 (not 3) is an absolute classic. But it doesn't like modern PCs much. Transport Tycoon OpenTTD might be a good shout too, love that game

You can play a FPS with a broken collar bone as long as you get the position just right, well i managed. Failing that a joypad is no problem.

Command and Conquer series are pretty much all good.

Try War of Legends for an online strategy game if you're looking for massive multiplayer. Like Evony / Civony, but better. Free to play.

This may not work for you but a chap on here suggested Silent Hunter 3 ages ago with the Grey Wolves add on. He was bang on the money, it's a cracking game.

Go for Silent Hunter 4 instead – then patch it to 1.5 and get the Trigger Maru modification – this turns it into the best submarine sim out there.
I've been addicted for weeks now, and last night I just spent/wasted 4 hours getting into a nice attack position on a fleet of 2 Japanese Kongo Battleships and 8 Destroyer escorts.
I let 4 torps go all aimed at 1 Kongo only to have a destroyer spot them and bravely intercept a torp with it's stern. The first torp missed its target, but the next 2 hit broadside, evenly spaced to cause enough damage to make the Kongo list heavily and drop its speed to 2 knots. The next hour was spent playing cat and mouse with the destroyers and their depth charges. They did a good enough job to keep me from finishing the Kongo off, pushing me too far away to make a new approach effective. I am now heading on to my designated patrol area to hunt for enemy merchant ships, got a sound contact at long range I'm going to check out…..

Brilliant game if you've got the time!

Spent last night being bored getting whopped by the comp on civ4 (warlord) bit harder than I remember!

Some really good suggestions I'll have plenty of time to check them all out. I played warzone and the original silent hunter loads…sadly my right hand is a bit worse for wear so I need something turn based/slow.

Steve – thanks for the physio suggestion, ipswich is a bit far. I'm seeing the consultant tomorrow so will ask about the figure of 8. I seriously can't believe I will be anywhere near a bike in 2-3 weeks
