My Sram X9 derailleur arm has started sticking when I change down to get into a smaller cog nothing will happen I have to knock the arm to get it to work, the cable is quite new so doubt it that what could be the other likely causes spring or something maybe?

X9’s seem to do this, apparently a batch had a weak spring which doesn’t give enough power to hit the lower cogs & spring isn’t available as a spare 😥

If you’ve bought the mech recently try the retailer, I’ve seen several threads (here & elsewhere)about warranty claims on X9 – I had no luck with mine (on warranty) as it was nearly a year old and slightly battered…..
