    Has anybody removed the paint from a thomson seatpost?
    Will it look right (like a raw frame)?
    Any reason not to try it?

    Why not just get a silver version, for removing the ‘paint’ good luck, as it’s anodized on

    it’s not painted it’s anodised. Much harder to remove without changing the physical dimensions which would be an issue with a seatpost.

    I’ll be able to tell you next week when I get caustic soda onto it. Should take a couple of mins (it took seconds with Hone cranks).

    I reckon it would look shite! One reason the black anno ones stay looking good is the fine annular ringed grooved finish. It will be virtually impossible to remove the black anodizing from the fine grooves.
