I bought a frame recently and it has something inside one of the tubes that rattles, how can a remove it? What is it likely to be a bit of weld?

I've got the same problem, tryed for hours to coax it out. I'm going to fire up the hot glue gun drop some through the bootle bosses and get it stick in one place.

I dropped a loose headset ball bearing into my Orange Clockwork frame years ago - makes a lovely noise when the trail gets rough.

wait a second I can't be swarf to big, swarf is cuttings from a lathe or mill. Bet it is pesky ball bearing. what about water as the frame is alu?

Cut tube in half so you can see better, when object is removed weld back together. Note: DO NOT try this with carbon frames, they are notoriously difficult to weld.

yeah i thought that
could it be a tag the frame is second hand?

Datatags tends not to rattle as such but make a 'slide-slide-slide-quiet-thud kind of noise' if you know what I mean. Can't hear mine when riding, but hear it move when I turn the bike upside down.
If it sounds like a small thing remove BB, seat post, forks, etc and shake vigerously, it should fall out somewhere.
