Just received a KMC 710 from Velosolo - great service - the sideplates are asymmetrical with a deep 'notch' in one side. Does this notch go on the 'inside' - next to sprocket and chainwheel or outside?

The 'notch' as you put it goes on the inside. The chain does not articulate properly the other way, as I found to my cost once upon a time.

Is this the biking equivalent of directional speaker cable???
