Posted 2 years ago # -

What makes the single pivot work so well for them pivot location of pedal platform?Posted 2 years ago # -
Can I have a free sample so's I can do along-term test on it?

Do they think they can make their patent hold water? and how does it over APP anyway? Why no rear Maxles?
If you're talking about the Nomad, (they've) Not found that it has any extensive benefit for a VPP rear triangle.
It works better for bikes with a pivot around the rear axle. Re the Butcher and Nickel - the intended use isn't that kind of bike, but then if they were to do a 7in version, it would probably make sense.when are they making a carbon Jackal?
'we're not'carbon 29er hardtail please - light as you can.
'Don't know'How much will they be (UK prices if poss)? Is there a grease gun provided - like with the VPP2 bikes (BLT2 etc)?
'UK prices will be posted here tonight'Posted 2 years ago # -
When will my 'kin White XL Chameleon frame be delivered (ordered from LBS in early Feb!)
Are they planning to drop any existing models in view of the new ones?

Whats the next "big thing?", and I mean proper big thing, not marketing led crap. Big things like disc brakes, platform damping meaning bikes bob less etc etc. So what is it ...and how big is this next big thing....
Posted 2 years ago # -
What non SC bike would you buy with your own money to ride & why?
and
Anodising is a cool looking finish and makes so much sense - how come you are dropping it?

Why did they stop making the Blur 4X and do they have any plan for anything similar in the future?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Can we have some more Blur 4xs please?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Tell them I'll have a normal jackal then ;o)

Do they think they can make their patent hold water?
The patent applies to a floating shock design that they're not using - it covers a shock rate change that covers a sine change (so plus to minus, or vice versa) - most linkage driven bikes use a progressive OR regressive rate, not both at once.

There seems a lot of pivots, bearings, nuts and bolts on the APP linkage to me (all in the right place for mud etc from the rear wheel), a Superlight owner, I'm wondering how much testing these new designs get in the real world of mud, water and grit and continual washing that we seem to excel in here in the UK and a lot of other places around the world and not sunny california ... have they been tested elsewhere?
Posted 2 years ago # -
They had 50 inches of rain in Santa Cruz this winter, so they know about riding in the wet...
There are 20 secret test riders around the US and Canada that they use (and it's pretty wet in Vancouver/Whistler) so they reckon they have wet weather testing dialed.

Are they going to introduce more Carbon frames, for example a Carbon Heckler and Superlight?
(slightly more in depth question than one posted on Twitter as was eating a Pizza at the time!)

At the risk of sounding sycophantic, tell them my LTc is absolutely fantastic!
Posted 2 years ago # -
Is the butcher the end of the heckler? Is there a new 4x coming? can the nickle run with 140mm forks? Is the nomad C a direct competitor with the mojo hd or built tougher?
Edit eh Please!!

Given the amount of santa cruz coverage, should the question be should the mag/website be renamed 'Santa Cruz World'

Why are we still using rear QRs? Can we have a better solution please?
Are we likely to see a blur LT with adjustable rear travel a la tracer?Posted 2 years ago # -
tell them I love mine.

agreed, i'd like to see maxle's on the rear become as normal as a 20mm front.

When is the butcher available? Is it before my Yeti ASR5 gets welded up and sent to the UK because if it is...
Posted 2 years ago # -
jimmy, santa cruz site says butcher available june, same time as nickel and nomad carbon.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Any plans for a new Superlight?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Carbon Chameleon DARN IT!
Posted 2 years ago # -
So what are the UK prices on Nickel and Butcher then?
Posted 2 years ago # -
the "new" suspension designs: can the absence of 1 axle & set of bolts (VPP: 2 links, new bikes: 2 links...) really make that much difference to manufacturing costs? Are the new designs a result of trying to increase/maintain VPP as a premium brand i.e. SC selling non-VPP bikes at lower margin in order to gain a bigger market share without diluting the VPP status?
yours, puzzled

Why can I not get hold of a sc hoodie?
Posted 2 years ago # -
superlight carbon?... pleaseeeeee
Posted 2 years ago # -
Why has my SC hoodie shrunk?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Would've really liked an answer on the blur 4x instead of a pointless one about patents
!

"Is the butcher the end of the heckler? Is there a new 4x coming? can the nickle run with 140mm forks? Is the nomad C a direct competitor with the mojo hd or built tougher?"
The Heckler will continue (and no, it won't be coming out in carbon). The Nickel can be run with 120-140mm forks.
The Nomad C is BONKERS tough. I've just been watching one have weights smashed down onto it while being repeatedly hit with a solid steel bar... The Blur LTC was the strongest frame that Santa Cruz had ever made. The Nomad is stronger than that. It's impressive...
Posted 2 years ago # -
There are NO plans for a new, updated 4X. It just wasn't a popular model (despite its cult status) - so they won't be making another one unless 200 of you get together and pay $2500 up front and wait six months. If you do that, then they'll think about it...
