What do bib shorts offer over normal padded undershorts? I've been wondering if I should try a pair as people rave about them but I can't see what they gain me, all of my undershorts stay where they are and the waistband doesn't dig in...

Bib shorts = no drafty gap between shirt and shorts

Plus they flatten your belly.

So I'm told.

Very good OP, saves me spending out on those rediculously over priced PX ones 😉

Lots of this stuff in Macclesfield Halfords if any good for anyone? Bib shorts in L and XL, jackets at £30 in yellow and tops in S and M I think. Always though Adidas cycling gear was good quality tbh.

I've got 2 pairs of those bibs, very comfy and seem very well made as well. Wasn't long ago that team sky stuff was Adidas.

I've got some Adidas touring shorts, mainly for commuting. They're pretty good and for £15 I'd have got another pair or two but they're sold out.

The main thing for me is that they stay put and they don't dig into your waist. You say this isn't a problem for you so that's great, but I have find it can become a problem with normal lycra. It's not as big a problem with baggies as they often have a method of tightening them, so on long days out this is constantly being adjusted.

The down side is if you wear baggies then I find the baggy part slips down easier.

So generally prefer bib for the road and non-bib baggies for mountain biking.

Those Adidas bib shorts size up huge. Stupidly big. I got some in XL (usually an XXL in Altura, Endura, Shimano bib shorts) and they were like a pair of massive clown trouser dungarees. I reckon I would have been a medium.
