    A few years ago there was a memorial day where a Lanc. bomber dropped thousands of poppies over London, it sort of made me queasy to see what that symbol had become. My family have a long history of military involvement, and I put money in the tin, and goodness knows I’ve done my fair share of collecting, and helping out at the Legion, but I don’t wear a poppy any more.

    I find this a…. slightly difficult issue.

    I don’t.

    I live near Headley Court, the rehabilitation centre for injured services personnel. The local residents objected to the presence of the establishment, fearing it would lower property values.

    Good enough reason alone, for me.

    Haven’t bought one yet but will do so tomorrow.

    Yes, I will wear it as I am immune to political correctness.
