I’ve two Lumicycle halogen cans to convert.
I (think) I have the 830Ma drivers from BCT
    I want a road/commute light, so was thinking cutter XPEMR11T (what’s the XPEMR11Q??)
with optics, but would frosted narrow, frosted medium or narrow lens front be best?
Other light more general usage so XPGMR11T, with similar optics – probably medium.
Emailed Trout re heatsinks etc, but have bodged something in the past.

I still use a Lumi HID, so have batteries, chargers etc, so seems to make sense.

Am I way out with this??

I use the same driver with a XPE triple and a narrow ens but with a halogen glowring.

Works really well for my dark lane commuting.

no you are spot on with what you are doing IMHO

Thanks for that – do you know the difference between XPEMR11T and XPEMR11Q ??? there’s about a £fiver in it.
For that matter how are XPE and XPG different?
    Anyone?

The XRE works well with the XRE Optic for me, you will notice a difference betwen a triple and a quad, if you have a decent battery go for the quad.

If I run a XPG I still use the XRE Optic, it gives a better beam IMHO

not really, you only have about 6mm of room , by the time you have files the 15mm down to 6mm you will probably not have much left.

My be worth a go though, but I would be inclined to go with the 600ma driver rather than the 830ma one just to keep the temp down a bit

Does overheating just fry the driver, or knacker the leds too?
