Totally stupid, defeats the purpose etc or would it be a total hoot?

Sounds like a song from Beck!

Sounds like a bundle of laffs. Go for it, what you got to lose?

sounds like a way of making a flexy*, light frame ride beyond its intended use, personally i don’t think long forks and zingy steel frames are happy companions, can’t get the best out of either. you’ll probably be faster with 100 or 120mm bolted rebas.

*note flexy is not meant as a bad thing

The sort of abuse a pair of Pikes implies would surely be risky from a headtube strength perspective. I guess you could wind them down to 100mm but then why bother with Pikes in the first place.

    No No and thrice No.

RLs are light weight, short travel frames, designed for 100mm travel forks. They get wandery and vague over 110-115mm
Building a bike is all about balance, and putting Pikes on one is a big mismatch, and a waste of a good fork and a good frame
