are there any 140/150mm forks as tough as old type pike air?

i had a pair of 150mm revs, which everyone say’s are the same as the pike, but they are or were not as solid feeling.

what else is as tough.

I have AM1 SL’s and 55’s not the most reliable but solid feeling. The new 55’s look tough.

Damping wise, sure, but the chassis is totally different. Much lighter, definately flexier. Still, strong enough for me so far.

I reckon 99% of people who think they needed the strength of a Pike probably would be fine on a Rev. But, if you’re the 1%, space down an air Lyrik, it’s still lighter than the heavier Pikes.

Is the Argyll 140mm fork not the Pike chassis? Or is that an InterWebFact?

chunky…….coils are far too soft for me mate, cheers tho.
the revs are far far flexier for and aft than the pike ever were.
20 odd stone braking hard with a 200mm rotor tests them a little bit more than a 12/14 stone person i reckon…… 😉

140mm SoloAir Argyles are the same as the old Pikes aren’t they?

I know what you mean about the new Revs. They seem as stiff as Pikes when cornering, but a bit twangy under braking.

Pikes are tough, but not bomb proof. I managed to snap a set on Christmas eve;

Also, those are the older Pikes, which were known to be weak on the arch.

What about Marz 44s? What are they like for stiffness?

Just got some 44’s, cant really comment yet tbh, but theyre certainly less bulky than Pikes, weigh a pound less! and look a bit spindlier too.

In my mind, they therefore cant be stiffer!

i have a set of 55 ata things in the garage.
i dont wind forks up n down, so i will see how they go.
all the bad stuff i hear about em is with winding em up n down and using the lockout.
we will see.

I’ve got 2 sets of Revs which replaced 2 sets of Pikes (1 set of Pikes still in use on another bike) and I can’t tell the diffrence flex wise? Mine are all 20mm axles. Maybe I’m not good enough to notice?

I can tell the difference in damping though – the revs are way better.
