    what sort of speeds can a tandem go compared to a solo bike, are they faster or slower per person, WHY

    Faster, twice the power for the same wind resistance.

    Twice the power for only around 1.5 times the weight.

    More inertia due to greater mass so not as easily slowed by friction encoutered by solo riders I believe

    but they aren't faster uphill.
