…that’s what her doctors call her, for my new friend Shelley has just completed her marathon walk around the South West Coast Path, the same path i walked last year.

I did it for my reasons and found the whole experience rewarding for so many reasons, however, much of the path was pretty hard going even for a fairly fit and able bodied person like myself.

Shelley however completed the walk having undergone pioneering surgery to correct her severe knock knee.
Only last April she had her final plate removed leaving her pain free, for the first time since she was 18.

I joined her for the final few days of her walk from Ferry bridge the the emotional finish at South Haven Point near Poole.

This is once again an inspiration and a reminder of what can be achieved if you really want it.

She’s not yet hit the target of £4000, so if you’d like to donate, you can do so at by using the link on her blog site at http://www.walkthecoast.org/ where you can read about her and her experience along the path.

    Or at http://www.justgiving.com/shelleycunningham.

It’s been a hell of a few days with two woman i’d never met before and so many laughs were shared as well as the fantastic Dorset coastline to enjoy.

Highlight however for me was typically wildlife related. I saw and photographed a migrant Butterfly possibly blown off course on it’s summer return from migration, from Mexico to Canada.

    Well done Shelley.
