My first pair of Mary bars arrived in the post today. I'm going to run them the right way up to begin with, but may experiment later. At what angle are people running them?

The one that feels most comfortable. I've not measured it I'm afraid but it was pretty obvious.

I tried upside down for a while on my commuter. Looked bling but didn't do my back any favours (and I'm not even that old!). Got them the right way up for now but will try them flipped again when I get the Pomp built up (should have a slightly higher front end then the converted explosif). As for the angle...no idea I'm afraid. What cynic-al said really.

Quite down,and the right way up. If you have an On-One stem, you know you've got a fairly good starting point when you can see Mary out of the hole in the face-plate.

Thanks BD. I think I'll end up with them angled quite far down, as that's how the Midge bars on my Solitude and the shopperbiketastic bars on my Mundo have ended up.
It's going to be nice to be able to switch between bikes without feeling like the bars are on backwards, like I do at the moment!

My Mary bars are flipped on my Pomp. I think I may try them the correct way round though as I can't quite make my mind up whether I like it or not

If you are running it with the On-One stem as well, the logo on the bars is visible through the front hollow stem plate

Dammit BD, stop showing photos of that bike! Everytime I see one built up it makes me want one even more.
Might try angling my bars a bit further down. They're fairly flat compared to what is shown.

I remember Brant saying that they should be angled so that the grips point towards the rear wheel skewer. That's how I had mine set up and they felt pretty comfy (just too narrow for me to really get on with)

I remember him suggesting that too. With respect, I don't think yours are at anything like that angle, and mine were horrendous like that. It was balls.

Mine are the right way up, and almost flat. My saddle is higher than the bars though - you probably want to angle them further back as the bars get higher relative to the saddle.

BigDummy - You are probably right! I do remember trying to follow Brant's guidance - perhaps I just messed it up!

i found when upside down i they had a slight downward angle which was very comfy for my wrists

The riser bars are relatively high at the moment, but I think flipping the bars would make them too low and I don't have the steerer length to move them higher.
I always felt the bars needed to be a bit lower when I first got the bike, relative to the mid-90s Kona I previously had, but I've got use to them now. Running the bars flipped would probably drop the grips 2 to 3 inches, which is a tad far. I think the rise on these will be less than on current bars though, so should be spot on.

I Have been having fun today trying new angles... Had them less than a week and seem to work well on the old singlespeed.
