I've just bought one of these On One Macinato's. Seems lovely. However I have some tech issues..
1) Taper lock drop out etc. Umm how does this work?
2) The front brake mounting spindle does not reach all the way across the fork (see pics) the nut thingy is 20mm long like the extra long one they sell (pictured below), but it does not reach from the back of the fork, not even to catch a couple of threads. You have to connect as shown in my pic. Is there a solution to this, TBH I don't think it's that structurally sound to mount it as I have.
EDIT - if you remove the spacer/washer between the brake and the frame boss then the pads touch the forks..

Did you buy all pieces from on one or are they your own brakes?
Build kit from On One. Have just sent email to bikebuild but I expect its bedtime now..
(Although those are my bars you should make a bar like it, jeffing sexy)
Sounds like incorrect pick. Sorry.
bottom. Which bit is incorrect, the brake or the "extra long bolt".
Seems like the brake spindle is very short. I haven't confused it with the rear, that was even shorter..
Wots the solution?
Nice colour
Bregante, I like a blue. Here it is next to my mates 800quid cooper spa. (apologies for the crapola mobile pic)
The interesting thing is that the wheels, brakes, cranks etc all seem similar, main differences are brooks saddle (60quid?) them sexy bars (which I got from eight inch for 29.99) brooks leather bar tape 50 quid by all accounts, a chrome finish and v sexy looking drop outs. I think the brake levers on mine are way better. The TIG welding on both frames is awesome.. Is his worth 400 more? I don't think so. Mine stands me in 379+29.99 and self build, which I prefer..
Weighs 21.4 lbs inc pedals . It is also a size v small.
So anyone know how the taper lock works then.
Brant - Right I may have got my facts slightly wrong. The actual brake nut supplied is only 13mm long so I think a 20mm one would work. So yes probably incorrect pick in the wharehouse as I assume they should have sent the 20mm brake nut?
I also think I could get away with removing washer/spacer thing(is this a good idea?) as the brake blocks sit just inside the forks. I'm going to measure it all up with pics in a min..
All fixed, bikebuild@planetx have sent me a longer nut. Easy peasy.
