Maybe its because I'm now officially in my mid thirties,
but I now find myself "enjoying the view" when I'm out on a ride.
Anyone else around the similar age with this problem?

Old git at 30?
Jeez, what does that make me?

No, it is because your skills have reached an almost Jedi like level where looking at where you are going is required less.
Honest! (mid 30's here too, just)Posted 2 years ago # -

ive been enjoying the view for years when out biking.. in fact i first started off road riding twenty years ago to get further for different photo's.. but found that stopping to take the pics just got in the way of the cycling.
So out of that a new way of riding was born and i have enjoyed mountain biking without taking the camera after only the second time out.
But having said that i am 45 !!Posted 2 years ago # -
mid thirties eh - those were the days -
eee, a could ride t top'oth-hill before I needed to stop and look at the view.......early forties is what you need worry about, now I need to to stop at the bottom of the hill to admire the view before I set off up....
However old you are though, I do however, mostly find the view is always good from the pub, when enjoying a post ride snifter.....

And are you finding it easier to ride these days without the nappies.

I find I have definitely become more 'gnar' in my late 30's and my 'skillz' have increased exponentially since 35
Maybe I take bigger risks knowing that I am getting that much closer to the end of my life anyway?

wait till you get to fifty plus , sunsets, hill forts, standing stones, views, little benches placed in the middle of the back of beyond,(we found one on last nights night ride, tucked away in the corner of a field with a view, put there to celebrate some ones 60th, ) yet another spot ,excuse, to sit and eat sweets, all these things make the ride for me . cheers 50+ going on 17.

Errr - that's why I got into biking at the ripe old age of 34! It's all about the coffee and cake too

Only when I do not feel very strong and I can't summon up the energy push on the pedals harder - so I sit up and slow down and pretend to be enjoying the view as if that was the principal objective of why I was out riding in the first place. Happens a lot these days especially when out riding on my own which is about 2/3 rds of the time
