    Hi

I have 5w oil for the uppers, but didnt have anything for the lowers, my LBS has given me two 5ml tubes of fox oil and said that would be OK

Manual says I need 15w oil in the lowers, is this stuff gonna be OK ?

According to this chap (scroll down a bit), RockShox oil weights are different to actual real life oil weights. Obviously this is because RockShox forks are special, magical devices, and is nothing to do with them wanting to flog you overpriced RockShox branded oil rather than let you use cheap stuff or anything like that…

Teh oil in the lowers is only for lubrication – pretty much any oil will do

More than 5 ml in each leg tho surely? i use motorcycle fork oil

Sounds like he’s given you Fox Float oil. That’s a bit thicker you are supposed to stick in there, but you’ll probably get away with it. As TJ, I use motorbike fork oil. Pretty cheap from a motorbike shop so worth using the proper stuff. 15wt according to this:
