  • Numpty night light battery question.

My night light battery is knackered, so I want to sort an alternative.
    The light runs on 12v.
I have several 11.1 v 800mah batteries normally used to power airsoft guns.
I’m happy that the voltage is ok, tried it and the light is pretty much as bright as before. 800mah seems a bit low to get a decent runtime though so if I wire them both in parallel (pos to pos & neg to neg) will that effectively double the mah but leave the voltage the same?

    It’s a 3 cell LiPo, each cell is 3.7v.

hmm. i’d be a bit leary if it were me. those packs are a bit pricey and i don’t know a great deal about them. you can get a high mah nimh pack and simple charger for not much. i’d go that route tbh, or just cheapy chinese.
edit: i’m sure they’re protected but i’d be concerned about balance between the two packs.

That certainly isn’t an issue if you’re connecting them in parallel – they’ll self balance.
