So looking for a new battery and a google shows many different prices, from £15 to £77 (for an oem battery), will I notice/is there much difference between the cheaper one’s. Not had to get one before so I have no experience of buying from a good source – anyone had fitment issues or not keeping power or charging properly? If any one on here buys regularly – IT department or similar, and can recommend a good place to buy them please let me know. Thanks

I got a 30 quid one from ebay rather than a 90 quid dell one. I have “BatteryBar” installed which measures capactiy and wear, and initially it showed the battery worked fine, but after a few months it wouldn’t hold any charge at all, just wore out really quickly. So, i’d avoid cheap ebay ones.

Think Anker are supposed to be better than the other cheap ones, and have a warranty if it is dodgy.

Think I got one of theirs a while back. Dont remember it being rubbish?!?

Most non-OEM phone/laptop/Makita drill batteries I’ve bought have been junk. I’d not buy anything without a warranty now (and one that’s worth something – I suspect trying to actuallly get any money out of eBay sellers who claim to offer a warranty would be more hassle than it’s worth)

I had a modestly priced one from ebay a while back, not bargain bin. It’s about half the capacity of the original in practice and does lose its last 20% almost instantly, but whilst it was crap to begin with it’s no crapper 2 years later. Doesn’t get cycled all that often though.
