Looking to go someware different this year, been to Morzine for the last 3 years, loved it but fancy a change, thinking of Spain or Italy, looking for a mixture of XC and some good descents but not down hill specific, also have a choice of bikes to take, a Nomad or a Marin Mt Vision, any recomendations?

Just got back from Liguria, Italian Riviera. it was great, nice xc routes and plenty of amazing descents. Went with Riviera Bike http://www.rivierabike.co.uk/ They were brilliant!

Les arcs sounds like it might be right up your street. I’ve been out with trail addiction a couple of times and can highly reccomend them.

In summer spain will be too hot I’d have thought (as an example switchbacks close in july and august due to the heat), i went in march and it was pretty nice at that time so mid summer would be pretty killer i’d have thought.

I’ve been out to Spain with SwitchBacks, got nothing but great things to say about the company and the location 8)

Agree Switchbacks. Mike will push you and you’ll return a better rider too.

Thanks for the info so far, we are thinking of going in Sept so Spain should be ok, any sugestions on the bike, Nomad or Marin Mt Vision, the Nomad may be a bit OTT

Depends on the riding of course, but the Marin would be more suited to the Switchbacks routes (apart from maybe the ‘Six inches Only’ route or whatever they call it – but that can be done on a rigid if you chose to really.)

Weather in Southern Spain perfect in September. We have some great singletrack rides during the day & lively night life on the coast at night.

Take the Nomad to Verbier and stay with http://www.powderanddust.com . Its awesome out there, but is biased towards steep techincal singletrack.
