    Many years ago there were a few bikes made of… And I’ll get this wrong.. Beryllium… Off the shelf? Hmmm perhaps not but I think the full bike was like 30k. Am sure some bike historian will come along and correct my poor memory…

    If you go on van nicholas, you can easily blow upwards of £12k on a road bike, and I think they make mtbs too. Wondering what a top spec santa cruz v10 carbon costs.. Easily £7k+?

    A davinci symbiosis tandem can hit over £20 000 if you hit the options list hard, ti frame, s&s couplers, etc etc.

    Talking to the Merida guys at BBF, and I can’t remember exact price, but Gunn-Rita’s replica was £10,000 (I think)

    Scale 899 is probably the most pricey of the truly ‘off the shelf’ bikes. Could easily custom build over £10k, AX Lightness rims, SRM etc.
