… just checking. My bikes (3) are covered by individual item cover to the value of £4000 each. In reflection of the increased amount of thefts going on, I’d just like to hear

    a) Whether anyones had any issues with this

    b) I’m pretty sure I heard a rumour that there T&C’s were changing regarding bikes – anyone know anything about that?

If you take out a new policy they’re no longer covered and you’ll have to specify them (no doubt at great expense). If you just renew you’ll continue to have the cover. Sadly their renewals have always been far more expensive than a new business quote for me (and most others), so you’ll have to weigh up if a renewal is still cheaper than cover from another insurer.

Aha – our renewal is £1.50 more than last year – I think I’ll hang on to M&S…

Strangely my M&S renewal in November was cheaper than an online M&S quote which was a first.

Just to update from that older thread – I renewed under the same T&Cs, more expensive than last year but cheaper than the alternatives.
I’m sure it won’t last though.

Just got M&S cover and yes i had to pay extra. They cover up to 1k as part of the policy now and i added in my two other bikes that go over that. It’s expensive yes but compared to contents + specialist cover i found it much cheaper still.
