Can i mix n match my Marta calipers with the older style Louise FR lever?

They both use the same Magura 2.2 DiscHose.

    if not why not?

Hi Qwerty, Theoreticaly and practicaly there shouldn’t be any issues. However, it will probably mean you loose your 5 year leak-proof warranty that Magura offer. I’m not sure this is going to be an issue for you though as it will probably still work out cheaper this way for you. Just remember Magura blood works DOT doesn’t. 😉

it’s really down to if the piston in a Louise lever is the same area as a MArta one.

I’ve got a pair of Louise brakes (front and rear, calipers and levers only – think they have pads too) you could have for £35 posted if it’ll help? from memory, one of them needs a bleed but the other was fine. email in profile.

cheers, i’ve got some shonkily levered Martas (too many crashes, and the levers are very expensive) and some vgc LouiseFR with calipers that are too big for my 180f/160r so i may give it a go – not too worried about warranty and i’ve got a load of Magura Blood

was just wondering if anyone else has tried it
