Spoke to apple today and the nice guy I spoke to sort of said in a round about way that the discs I already have should work on my imac ! His words were try it you have nothing to loose !

Dont get all moral on me I am just asking do you think they would work ? Not tried yet but will !

No they won’t! Unless you have the proper install media – usually the discs supplied with a mac only work with that mac…

install media = your installation (install) discs (media).

Don’t think install media from another mac will work, but if you’ve got an upgrade disc (including one burnt from a 10.7 image) then that will work in unlimited macs.

If the discs are grey they wont work on another mac. if they are black you can use them on another mac 🙂
