Anyone got any info on changing standard ceiling spots to LED? Do I use the same transformer or does it need completely new kit? Am looking to reduce energy consumption a bit
    Cheers

You can get direct replacement leds. they are a lot less light than a halogen tho.

Thanks TJ – so no need to change the existing transformers, just plug in the new bulbs?

I like the idea of reduced energy consumption, but not sure I like the idea of less light

Try BLT direct for led lamps, I’ve always had excellent service from them and the prices are pretty good. The site has all the info you’ll need for direct replacement in halogen fittings.

Be careful, some LEDs don’t like electronic transformers – I killed 2 LED spots in the bathroom that way, an expensive mistake. I think it’s the LED driver that goes, rather than the LED itself.
