I'm going with a load of mates (non-bikers) to the Lleyn peninsula (right at the bottom near abersoch) for a week in March. I'll sling a bike in the back of the car but I can't see myself doing any big trail centres etc... is there anything rideable or should I take my r**d bike?

Used to go there on holidays as kids - Aberdaron and Whistling Sands - long long time ago.
I'd take a wet bike not a road bike - Abersoch is kind of Wilmslow on sea - with lots of Cheshire types at the weekend.

Pick up a copy of the Bikefax Snowdonia guidebook or download a couple of routes from the site and have a stop off on the way there. The Druids Circle ride over Conwy Mountain is a bit of a cracker, but really too many good rides to list on the route down there.
If only you knew someone who could lend you a copy of the book or copy out a route guide (by hand, making slight adjustments and avoiding copyright issues, obviously) for you................
Going diving by any chance?

Took my road bike last time I was down there-uncle has caravan in Nefyn. Very quiet hilly riding. Not much in the way of off roading unless you car it out to Snowdonia or down to Dolg/Mach area. There is a small forest just south of Nefyn-access off B4354 near to jctn with A497. Not sure how much riding but I've walked there.
