  • Liquid latex, empty & replace or just top-up?

A couple of questions to tubeless users.

Do you completely empty the old liquid latex out of your tyres, clean everything then re-fill or do you just periodically top it up?

How many times a year does this need done?

    Thanks.

Mine's often dry when I change tyres after even a few months. If any is left I re-use it.

Depends on the tyre and the sealant – Stans lasts for 3 months or so, JRA Milk about 3 weeks.

Usually I just top up, as I'm not fussed about the weight of the bike that has the same tyres on all the time. On the race bike, I empty/clean every other race or so, whenever I change tyres.

I'm using Joe's No Flats sealant with non-tubeless tyres. It's been more than 3 months since they were originally fitted so it sounds like they'll definitely need at least a top-up.
