    Every so often the lights in our house dip for a split second; they just dim and then come back up again.

    It’s a newish fuse box, we don’t have ghosts and the telly etc stays on.

    What’s going on?

    We’re in Sheffield if that makes a difference

    Are you sure it’s just you and not other people in the area? we get short power cuts (a second or so) quite often.

    Does anyone three doors down (in either direction) run any large motor tools or do any welding? Any industry on the same local supply transformer?

    our lights do it when the hoover is first switched on. then they go back to normal even if it is running.
