Anyone else with (or had) a pair of these that leaked? Or am I just expecting too much from a waterproof boot?

Eventually after a real soaking the neoprene cuff which isn't intended to be waterproof seems to get saturated and then seeps down my socks and into my shoes but in general my feet stay pretty dry in them. Its only the shoe part that has the gore tex lining.

mine are fine, i've had them for two winters now and am looking forward to dry feet for third.

I think when I get back from tomorrows ride, I'll fill them with water and see if it leaks out below the line of the gore tex "sock" inside them. There were actual pools of water in the toe box last night. maybe I need a pair of those thin summer seal skins to use with them (not enough room for winter seal skins)

I hose mine off after riding along with the bike - no leakage. I only get wet feet when there is water running down my legs into the boots. There was a thread on this some time ago.

Got them just before Christmas. Worn them about three times and last night was their first real wet ride. (been using flats quite a bit over the winter.)

Curiosity got the better of me recently. Sat them in water to just below the start of the cuff & left for a while - No water got in.
Go riding out on the trails when it's lagging down & water gets in the top.
Still top boots though.Chris

I did wonder if it was just run down. It was extra foul out last night. Guess I need to dry them out and find me a bucket! Anyone got any ideas whether it's better to have the water outside and see what comes in or inside and see what comes out?

I ride to work every day in them at this time of year plus at least two xc rides a week,thats a fair bit of use over two seasons,they're also hosed down after every muddy ride and i've never got wet feet when using them so i'm quite surprised to hear of someone having problems with a relatively new pair!.

try having the water outside first after all thats where it is when you're riding so it will be a fairer test plus if they don't let any in then you won't have to dry them out!.

Could it seep in through the cleat holes in the bottom I wonder ? ( mine's so jammed full of 'stuff' I doubt anything short of nuclear would clear the holes out)
But, the main body of the boot seems fine.

The inner sock includes the sole so there shouldn't be anything getting in through the cleat slots.
