Why would one of my King hubs be much quieter than the other 3 that are used by the other riders on my Thursday night ride?

Different grease? On the service thing it says if you use different grease to the ring drive lube (they recommend something but I can't remember what) that the hub will be distinctly louder.
Mine is really quiet too. I service it myself, fairly infrequently, with the proper lube. Mates is the generation before (can't remember the terminology) and is stupidly loud.

I think they used to recommend 20 weight synthetic oil for very cold conditions.
My SS hub is almost silent, but it has done a load of miles and the ring drive is probably worn out

So if I get the ring drive replaced will that sort the lack of noise, I like the noise the others make

Maybe, I'd just try a simple ring drive service first (instructions on the CK website), its £60+ for the ring drive parts alone.

The red (Mike). Mine sound proper cos they cost a lot of money from my LBS. Yours are off ebay, obviously cheap Honk konk copies.....
I did offer you a genuine set of King wheels to 5.1 rims, 3 weeks old for £400..... you declined and got a set for £200.
Let that be a lesson.
Remember, a Kia is not a BMW, even though they have the same amount of letters, 4 wheels and 5 seats.
