Yes really, along with a free Bike Register marking. All done in less than five minutes as I was collecting my bike from the racks at my local station. They are doing loads of stations nationwide which they consider to be theft hot spots so keep an eye open. It just struck me as really good pro-active policing, they even advise on locking with two different types of lock to make things harder for an average thief so they are clued up as well.
Pics here, all in all a very positive experience with my local BTP officers

Very good, shame their schedule doesnt come down to the coast.

Were they really coppers or are they cunningly disguised bike thieves ready to come back tomorrow with all the spare keys they have 😉

I saw they were doing them outside Waterloo. Not a lock I’d use in London. Registration looked useful though.

Yeah, I nearly got mine done at Waterloo yesterday but for some reason didn’t. The free locks looked overpriced 😉
