    Hi all,

So when I bought my Canon SX220 compact last year, I paid £40 extra and got the 3 year extended guarantee (whether that was a good or bad decision is neither here nor there).

Anyway, the shutter blades no longer always shut (catches on the front of the lens which is slightly bent as its super thin metal), and the lens has got quite scratched as a result.

Lady at Jessops says 4-6weeks guaranteed, but anyone had any personal experiences with it, timing, hassle etc?

    Ta, Duane.

I used it for a lens I bought of here and it was fine – quite speedy and a third party did the repair iirc

OK, thanks. How long did it take to get it back to you?

I paid an extra £15 on a flash gun, which failed after 12 months, just outside the warranty. Replaced on the spot.

Sorry Duane, I can’t remember, but it can’t have been longer than I thought it should have been.

They repaired a panasonic compact for me. Fast and efficient.

Just to follow this up, I took the camera in on the 15th May, got it back today, so less than 2 weeks!

After reading a few horror stories, I’m very impressed 🙂

Looks like they’ve replaced the entire lens assembly.
