The bank account has been locked because someone from either our favourite South Coast based emporium or the Airline of choice for the poor has got my details. So far we've bought £300 of Thorpe Park tickets and a£30 O2 top up. Experian also tell me they have someone trying to arrange finance in my name!! So far so not too bad.
Phone up the Abbey helpline and their security shut the account but assure us the Direct Debits will be paid. Last part of my months wages stuck in limbo as a result. The boss gives me a cheque drawn on a Santander account and Mrs Sandwich heads into the branch to pay it in and get some money. Girl behind the counter says "oh this account hasn't been stopped Mr Bloggs" after handing a complete strangers account details and statement to Mrs S!!!
The very unhelpful girl in Santander Ipswich, says no madam we cannot clear your cheque quickly such a thing is not possible. Mrs S continues being middle class and doesn't raise her voice to be further rebuffed. To add insult to injury she is told to go to Cash Converters to get the cheque cashed!
Very professional.
