I bent my hanger on my Dialled P.A.,bent it back with some adjustables trail-side,& carried on riding.

A few days later, borrowed a Park Tools mech hanger alignment tool off a mate,& despite the mech/hanger looking all 'in line',once I put the tool on the hanger it showed that it was way out.

Middleburn do break-away aluminium replacement bolts that are designed to snap before the hanger gets mashed. I had a '06 Scott Scale without a replaceable hanger and used one, saved my frame once. Only trouble is as far as I know they don't make them for SRAM mechs and they don't make them for Shadow type mechs either which is unfortunate.
