I don't see what's embarassing about trying to make an expensive item less attractive to thieves. Now, if he had a web page open with schoolgirl pron on it that might be different...

I think it is almost certainly a spoof as, if you look at the assoc. website one of their 'patents' include the 'ever-reliable' Duct Tape!
