They are supposed to get out before you get in though.

I refuse to sleep in any bed with an electric blanket, and prefer to get into a cold bed.

    Why?

Because when I was a kid, we had one catch fire in my room. I can still vividly remember the smell of smouldering mattress as my dad dragged it out onto the drive in the dark.

The mother-in-law once innocently set one up in a bed we were sleeping in at her house, never told us, and left it on all night. I woke in the early hours drenched in sweat thinking I was dying. When we discovered the blanket turned on I nearly had a fit! I had to gently explain why to her over brekkie the next morning…… 😕

Eugh! I can't stand getting into a warm bed, although my reasons are nothing like PeterPoddy. Just dont like it.

Nothing new here, I've got one of those human bedwarmers at home for the last 20 years. Works a treat,…..but an electric blanket turns out much cheaper on the long run I'm afraid.
