The Irish pub in the bowels of the shopping centre underneath the office block with the big rotating mercedes badge on the roof is a slightly surreal experience. Especially if there's a fully mulleted german rock/Country & Western band playing at the time

There is a 'Restaurant in the Dark' which is quite entertaining on a stag do as you can nick his wine and sneak chili powder into his food.....

Lots of great semi-legal bars in East Berlin

The pub is in the Europa Centre. Like you say, a bit of a surreal experience!
Is the Klo Bar still going, where women drink beer from glasses shaped like a certain male appendage?
