I’m curious how much you have paid for a solicitor when buying a house… we have a quote of £750.

anywhere between £500 and £1,000 depending on complexity and location of solicitor.

Sounds like we got a bargain – think we paid £400 + all the LR fees etc on top. This was in the summer of 2007 and it was all pretty simple (no chain, 2 bedroom house, no complications etc).

woffle that’s the exact same as us…2 bed, no chain, £400 fee + all the other costs + VAT. Sounds good then, thanks.

just been quoted £400 + vat. thats for the estate agent’s recommended solicitor, and it sounds like its related to the value of the house from what she said.

I can get it done for about £400 plus searches with a firm who are reliable and have service standards (something that alot of firms have never heard of). We use them quite a bit for our remortgage and purchase clients

If your interested in a proper quote my e-mail address is in my profile.
