The bearings are shot. About 3-4mm horizontal play at the rim, but still rotates well without sticking. It’s on the commuter, should I replace soon or just run it until it’s fecked?

What’s the worst that could happen? Is a replacement hub cost effective, or just go for a new wheel?

What hub is it?
If it’s cartridge bearings it’s a cheap 5 minute job.

If it’s cup and cones, it’s a cheap 5 minute job.

As above but it depends on how lazy you are, if it makes a noise that bugs you and how much/little mechanical sympathy you have.
