Only an inch or two higher than the bars on both mountain bikes, maybe 3 inches higher on the road and cross bikes.

about level or maybe just 1″ or so higher.

Whack it right down though on anything steep (well, as far as the stupid seat tower on my bike will let me). I have a dink in my rear shock from forgetting to take it into consideration once!

    errr……….

depends how felxible you are, my bars are a good 6″ down on the saddle on my hardcore freeride light extreem hardtail, although i could get my head between my knees without bending them.

And I dont drop my seatpost DH either, yeaaaaaaa I’m so ‘core!

whats a inch? used to 8 to 10cm now as i get older and not as flexable its 5cm from top of saddle to top of bars, of course as i get older i might call that 2 inches just to fit in

Way above. If it wasn’t I would be off the back on any steep uphills.

I put it down out of the way on the way back down though.

About 1-2″ over the bars for XC is giving good leg extension for pedalling. Several inches lower for playing.

I’ve tried lower bars but it seems to upset the handling.

pretty XC oriented so high, at least 3″ to ensure it matches leg extension on road bike

About 1 – 2″ on my HT and when the post is up on my FS about 3″, maybe thats backwards but WTH I like it

xc bike, little higher than the bars and gets lowered for descents. Jump bike, pretty dam low. DH bike, all the way down if it’s very steep or I don’t know the track. Otherwise, about level with the bars.

‘XC bike’ should not be used in the same sentence as ‘lowered for descents’, it’s just wrong!

I don’t really know about mine, couple of inches higher I guess.

5″ below (same as my BMX), tho’ if I hadn’t actually measured I’d’ve said just a couple of inches.

Couple of inches to whatever feels like the right leg extension on flat and uphill…all the way down as far as it’ll go on descents…it’s just how I’ve always ridden and I feel most comfortable with it like that, it’s a pain having to always alter it but ultimately it means I ride faster/better so…meh!

I have no idea why I’ve used ‘…’ so much there

About 4 inches. I am quite tall, and could do with a dropper for the downy bits.

Not actually measured, but i’d go with “a lot”

High due to long legs, but I try to bring the bars up as much as possible
