I say jog on.

quite common for cheap sites.

Heavily advertsied in Canada / USA for that reason.. good hotels at low rates. Never used personally though.

Lastminute do this as well, but you can normally figure out which hotel it is by pasting the description into google.

I once stayed in the “Darlington Spa Hotel” after going through one of those sites.

It isn’t in Darlington (it’s on the tees valley airport)
And isn’t a Spa (it’s a portacabin)
Hotel I can just about grant it, although shed would be closer
Included breakfast was cornflakes and luke warm milk.
