Anyone tried both and found ceramic lasted longer?

Not tried both, but I got a second-hand ceramic one off eBay for £35.

Only had a SS one here but it’s still going strong after 12 months with zero maintenance where as the SLX it replaced died after about 2 months.

I’ve heard people say the ceramic is “smoother” but I really doubt anyone could pick that out in a pepsi taste test.

stainless running for about 9 months here with no problems at all despite winter, lack of cleaning etc etc

ceramic definately feels smoother to the touch ie by finger, have one of each and both are now 1 year plus and super smooth…

ceramic noticeably smoother imo, definitely worth the extra. Had a ceramic hope bb on my last bike for nearly a year. Got immersed in water many times, loads of v.muddy rides and i jetwashed the hell out if it and it stayed super smooth the whole time
