It’s a 50km/100km ride around the North Cotswolds (Hell of the North Cotswolds). Named after a Belgian based ride I believe. Mostly roads, lanes, and bridleways although over the last few years the off road / on road percentage has increased in favour of off road. Seems to have become very popular over the last 5 or so years leading to it getting fully subscribed well in advance. I like it because it falls relatively early in the year making it a good ‘starting’ event to aim for. Oh, and cakes of course; good cakes (“,)

you can choose which distance you do on the day. I did 75k last year due to baby related lack of fitness and generally tough conditions.

might give an idea of what you are letting yourself in for, the route won’t be the same as these though. It is always roughly the same distance, and it never crosses certain roads, it always stops in Guiting for cakes, but that is about all that is guaranteed to be constant.

I have been “persuaded” to do it this year. I’ve ridden 100k in one go, exactly once. And that was some years ago. Think I’m taking the MTB, unless I ride the CX bike loads between now and April.

Right I want everyone to think “Dry and Sunny” from now until then 🙂
