Has anyone tried this. Thinking bikefest, the small blocks were brill, til it rained, then really scary on the front end, descending. So I thought high Roller front. Would it work?

I have used Mud-x front and SB8 rear in marginal conditions..... was great.

About 75% of the year I run a HR on the front with a Larson on the back the larson is a similar pattern to the SB8 and I find it a really good combo. The Larson works better than you would thing in the mud and just this morning I got up two wet muddy rooty steep climbs (that are hard in the dry) when my mate with HRs front and back span out and had to walk up half of them. I only swap the larsons for Swamp things when it gets really muddy.

I've just switched to a SB8 on the back with a Blue groove on the front. It's been an absolute revelation compared to the Nevegal which was on there before. Grips brilliantly in anything but loads, and I mean LOADS, of wet mud.

I've run highroller/larssen combo and loved it, fast drifty rear and grippy front

I just happen to have a Larssen in my tyre mountain. Might try it...

It's not the going up, for I have the physique of a racing snake, it's the downhills, hardtail, rigid and I'm crap (that's a technical term)..

lol what i ment was they were griping on the greasy logs, roots and rocks and lets face it there isnt really much of downhill to worry about u have the z's which is doable on a hybrid and the "tech area" which again not to bad.
u on the peace again?Posted 12 months ago # -
Ti If. It was at the bottom of the zig zags that the front let go. I'm not doing that again............

as u sweep to the right? tis abit of a fast corner spose best bet is try a diffrent one on the fri and see how u feel.

I've just changed from my Mud X's to an ADvantage 60a 2.25 Bontrager XR1 2.2 combo and I'm loving it. Great acceleration and carries the speed really well. The ADvantage looks quite big but rolls really smoothly and not had any spinning out from the XR1 either.

nobby nic/larsen TT is my favoured 26er tyre combo

then I fit a Crossmark up front.
braver than me! XMarks great on the back of a 29er though

Not had a problem all last summer & most of April this year with a front Crossmark.
On a climb similar to Cwm carn, a Crossmark on the rear was slipping on the rocky sections & spinning out on every root, I tried pressures between 20 & 35psi (tubeless) but on fitting a Larsen, I've cleaned the last four times easily.

Where do you live, I dumped the Mud X's in early March.
