I’ve always thought I was a bit of a niche whore when it came to buying bike frames. However a recent disaster with a titanium frame made by a bloke with a beard in a shack in Tenessee has led me to question the wisdom of spending shed loads of money on bling frames.

So much so I’ve recently been looking at getting a Scandal and spending the rest on some posh wheels as I’m looking at building up a light race bike.

Is this a wise move? Could you advise me either way/ offer any alternatives?

Scandal = brilliant, fast, smooth, surprisingly comfortable, race machine. For the money you really have to go some. On-One have got some cheap bling wheels too!

It cracked on the headtube/downtube weld (too much heat in the weld?)
